You know how to play. Now learn to play with no map.

Improvisation isn't a special skill for jazz musicians and guitar heroes. It's the most natural thing a musician can do — responding to what you hear, in real time, with other people in the room. You already do it in conversation every day. Live in Space teaches you to do it on the instrument. This is not a theory course. You won't be handed a pentatonic scale and told to use it. You'll learn to listen — really listen — and to respond. The technique follows the intention. The music follows the listening.

What's included

Three private lessons with a working musician focused on the craft of improvisation: how to find your place in a groove, how to build a phrase, how to leave space, how to recover when you lose the thread. Three jam sessions with other players. Real improvisation, in real time, with real people. Guided by someone who has done this a thousand times and knows how to make a room feel safe enough to take risks.

Who this is for

You can play. You know some songs, you're comfortable with chords, maybe you've noodled around with soloing. But when you play with other people, you freeze — or you fill every second and don't know why it's not working. You want to stop thinking so much and start playing.
